Donetsk oblast is located in the eastern part of Ukraine, large part of the territory is located within the hills - Donetsk ridge and Azov Upland. Donetsk oblast is the most populous region of Ukraine, the southern border of the region runs along the coast of the Azov Sea and the eastern border is the state boundary of Ukraine with the Russian Federation. Subsoil of Donetsk oblast is rich in coal, rock salt and refractory clay. Donetsk oblast is a region with high level of industrial development, the main industries are metallurgy, coal mining, coke production, there are food industry, chemical industry, heavy engineering and electricity generating sector among the well developed industries. The sea port on the Sea of Azov operate on the territory of Donetsk oblast, port located in the City of Mariupol.
